Mothers Day

Happy Mothers Day

I awake this morning to a nice hot cup of tea, no different than any other morning as I have a wonderful Fiance who brings me a cuppa every morning.
But today I also recieved yummy raisin toast with lashings of butter , yum yum.
About 8.10am I could not lay in bed any longer waiting for my boys , 11 and 12 yr olds like to sleep in when they can lol.
Once up I sat with another cuppa and checked of course FB , my boys then proceeded to get up and give me their presents, a beautiful candle that I just adore the smell of , nothing fancy just a glade one from the supermarket called hawaiin breeze so beautiful .
A cherry ripe, turkish delight and a block of the new cadbury chocolate.
Shower and dressed and off to town to meet my mum and my 2 daughters , we then spent the next 4 hours at craft alive browsing the stalls and having a ball.
We all have different talents so we all wanted to look at different things, My mum is the card lady loves making cards and tags and such, my oldest daughter is into Jewellery and beading , next daughter loves cooking and of course myself loving sewing.
We even all had our faces painted and why not it is Mothers Day .
So here we all are , beautiful bunch arnt we.

Did you also know I am part of a great handmade site , where a group of talented ladies show and sell their wears.

So many talented ladies , so many items you can also buy sewing threads, magazines, jewellery and much much more so head on over and check it out .

Last but not least here is a cute little denim pinny I made yesterday with a embroidered bee on the front, certainly makes me clucky. I guess I will just have to wait for grandchildren

Till next time , have a wonderful day xx Jo

xxxxxx    Lest We Forget xxxxxx
May we all remeber those brave soldiers who fought  for their country so many years ago. Also thinking of our Australian soldiers in service today.

I have so many items on my agenda for the next few days weeks, I never know where to start . So I though if I list some here at least I can come back and maybe tick them off or say completed.

I have been given a last minute stall at the 3847 Makers market in Rosedale on Sunday

, so I need some stock as my stock is low atm. I have 4 Maddie pinnys almost finished but I also need to do some skirts and was hoping to do Marissa dreses and more Icy-Pole cosies. Maybe some late nights ahead.
Of course when I seem to have markets coming up , I am also needed to relief milk so yesterday and today I have to Milk which fills in a whole afternoon.

I also have to get to Bairnsdale  The stables to sign some paperwork for my Mini Makery  Cube . even though its not a long drive its a matter of fitting it into the schedule of appoitments for the kids.

To top it off I have custom orders that I need to finish !!!

Yay , I finished my top yesterday very pleased with myself but I am also very harsh on myself . I have always had self confidence issues all my life . So here goes the Miss Mod Top , I made the XL size 16-18 which is pretty right for size as I average a 16. My first intention was to wear it without a sash but after popping it on I decided to use the sash . I think it looks so much better.

I will be busy today , a local market has had a stall cancelation so I was next on the list so YAY I now have a market todo on sunday, downfall is I have little to no stock so I will need to make up a few Maddy Pinnys and pleated skirts before then.
Bets on how many I can get done?

Oh I have just been informed I also have to milk the next 2 nights arghhhhhhhh , well I better run or I will get   nothing done .

Well I made it back today :) I had a wonderful day cleaning yesterday and the sewing area is now nice and clean , alas I did not get to make my top . So it is first on my agenda today !

I have just finished the cleaning , a load of washing and sending out invoices for the customs I am going to start today.
Though I may have not made my top yesterday I found many U.F.O's so I decided I would finish one and here is the end result.

I will be back later today with my finished top , but on a happy note I will leave another reason why I love living on the farm so much . Fresh Eggs !!!

It has been a while, but fingers crossed I can keep my blogging up as well as sew, be a mum a partner, cleaner, referee, confidant etc etc as all mums do.

We have moved since I last wrote to a lovely (old) farmhouse, not much room to swing a cat but we love it to pieces so quiet and peaceful ! I mean who would not love to wake to these lovely creatures in the morning.

All the while moving , I have come to the realisation that I have WAY to much stuff so am starting a new page called Bits and Bobs over on Facebook land to help declutter a lot of sewing haberdashery I have.

Feel free to pop over and Like , my first items will be up for sale monday the 23rd of April.

Today I have planned to have a tidy of the sewing area as I have quite a few customs I need to start on Monday .
So here is my before pic for you all taken late yesterday afternoon, I will be back to post a after pic once it is finished.

It is 8.35am here in Victoria and would you believe all my family is still sound asleep and I am sitting here sipping a cuppa, I have already unpacked and restacked dishwasher, done a load of washing, fed the chooks, collected the googly eggs , let out the dogs and swept the floors , all the while glancing out my windows and thinking how lucky am I .

From me to you , till next time <3 Jo

Busy busy

Well I have been a busy little bee over the last few weeks, lot sof orders have come through to keep me busy for the next couple of weeks. I am taking a week off to catch up with said orders and have a declutter of my house as I have so many mismatched furniture pieces that I wish to get rid off and replace with some nice bright white furniture to add some freshness to the house.
Once again I have been a bit on the slack side with my posting , I know this is where I let my little business down and would really try to fix it up. anyone have any ideas how I can fix this glitch up ?
I am also working on a catalogue of ALL my dress and garment designs so customers can see what I am able to make up and then another catalogue/album of fabrics I can purchase to make up designs.
with over 11 dress designs and many other items I can make up this may be a vast catalogue . I can then take the said catalogue to markets to show people what I can make up :)

This sweet christmas dress was made using the lauren dress pattern a very practical and versatile pattern that can be used for all seasons , also with this style as the armholes are  quite genourous it may be used as a top as your child grows.

Below is a Emmy pinny , i loved making up this dress , using the combination of floral and solid fabrics, than adding embellishments from The crafty grape(can be found on facebook)

I adore black and white and this black damask is one of my favourite prints , here I have made something the older child , being a shirred top with a halter neck tie, matched with black drill pants and contrast cuffs.

Last but not least a great basic skirt made from a very pretty tea party print , matched with a green singlet which I have appliqued to match.

Now i must dash , I have rufflebots to make , and 180 badges to pop onto shirts ( a local job for a local company) , very busy girl today .
may you all have a wonderful day today xox

A special dress for a special girl.

I was asked the other day if I could create/design a dress similar to a picture that a very special customer of mine liked.
After looking at the picture , zooming in and out a few times . I set to designing in my mind, very little sleep was had as I just kept going over and over n my head the way I could go about the dress.
Today I set to it as if I did not get this dress made I would be up for another sleepless nght, here is the finished product a lovely little girls dress that has a crossover bodice , fully lined , buttoned up at the back, the skirt has a lot of fullness , at the centre front I have made a curved cross over skirt . This dress can have a sash or no sash up to the customer . In this pic I have put on a red , a green and no sash just to show you.

Once i am up to date with outstanding orders , this dress will be up for customs. It will certainly make a pretty christmas, party, flowergirl or special occasion dress .
